About Us

       Saturday, June 7, 2003

The YPanels team has put together a networking/discussion forum and an excellent line-up of IIT Alumni on the Panels. Come join us at this unique dinner program and networking opportunity with PanIIT Alumni.

As your professional networking forum, IIT YPanels creates insightful debates between industry-experts, academia and people who can believe in your ideas. Join us on the evening of June 7 to explore two scintillating topics - as we leverage over 75 visiting dignitaries attending IIT-Bombay's two-day annual event in Silicon Valley, CA.

In Off the Beaten Track, we explore interesting careers such as operations at a major retailer in the USA, sales in high-tech, faculty positions in leading-edge US and Indian universities and movie-making. Renowned panelists will discuss topics such as:

  • How can we leverage our analytical skills to diversify our skillset?
  • How can you contribute to and grow with the IIT-alumni network to develop yourself in these areas?
  • How can teaching at IITs help you achieve your goals?

A second parallel panel will hit a slightly different note. In From Technology to Business Innovation, we will demystify a popular perception that IITians are good problem solvers but struggling business innovators. Using personal insights, expect to learn from and challenge opinions around topics such as:

  • Serving local markets to hedge against economic downturns
  • Translating basic research into profitable long-term ventures
  • Teaching business-innovation at undergraduate levels
Invited IIT distinguished alumni and faculty include:
