The trail to Mission Peak is a great mix of elevation gain, comfort and amazing views. While it is no walk in the park, it won't leave you feeling out of breath. The only thing to leave you breathless are amazing views all along the way. As you slowly gain elevation, there are great long-distance views of the bay and its salt marshes. You can usually see the entire bay area from San Jose, all tbe way to SF. Its fun picking out the well known landmarks: The bridges, Shoreline Amphitheater, Trans America Pyramid...all this from a hill in Fremont!.

As you look a little closer, you get an amazing bird's eye view of the Fremont suburban sprawl. As you head closer to the peak, the hike begins to resemble a walk in the clouds. A layer of low-lying clouds had engulfed the peak. This made it a most surreal place for an early lunch break. Incredibly, we had taken less than two hours to cover all this ground!

The outdoors group had a lot of fun organizing and participating in this trip. We would like more of you to join us for future outdoors events. Our events are low cost (this one cost nothing) and usually involve the whole family. We look forward to seeing you on our next excursion into the great outdoors.
