Parag led INVESCO's investments in Amgen, Argose, Amber Networks, Centocor, DiscoveRx, Genomics Collaborative, Ishoni Networks, SmartPipes and Xenon Genetics as well as the following investments which have gone public: Alkermes, ARM Holdings, Celgene, Healthsouth Rehabilitation, Indigo and Transgenomic. Parag serves on the partnership advisory boards for Accel, Abbingworth, Essex Woodlands, Kiwi I Ventures and Skyline Venture Partners. He is also on the board of Transgenomic and several private company boards.
In 1983, Parag joined Citicorp Investment Management, a predecessor firm of INVESCO. He built a $1.5 billion small-cap group with a top-decile record prior to co-founding the private capital group. His career began in 1978 at Becton Dickinson as a product manager. He was later recruited by Booz, Allen and Hamilton to join their Technology Management Services Group, focusing on business strategy development.
Parag received a M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the
University of Pennsylvania in 1982. He earned a B.Tech from The Indian
Institute of Technology in 1977, and a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the
West Virginia College of Graduate Studies in 1978. He is registered with the NASD as a General Securities Representative
(Series 7).
Parag
is the President of TIE (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) and a Trustee of
the Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan (NY).
