Dear friends,

We would like to wish all IIT Bombay Alumni a Happy New Year and all the best for a brand new decade. A vote of thanks goes out to the many alumni who generously supported the Annual Fundraising Campaign 2009 and helped make it a success. IITB alumni have continued our tradition of "giving back" gurudakshina to our alma mater.

HATS, an alumni initiative which aims to improve hostel infrastructure and assist mess workers in all hostels, amongst other goals, is one of the major success stories of recent years ... more. HATS has been successfully launched for Hostel 7 and Hostel 4, and the goal is to expand this program to all hostels. The HATS core team needs volunteers to lead efforts for their respective hostels ... interested alumni should write to hats.alumni.core@iitbombay.org.

The Student Alumni Relationship Cell (SARC) has officially launched an Alumni Student Mentorship Program as of January 30. The aim of the program is to provide alumni with a platform to interact with current IITB students to provide them guidance and help them make informed career decisions ... more. Dunu Roy ('67) was featured in a LiveMint article about the resurgence of "student activism" in India. "The slightly frayed jeans and long silver hair tied into a ponytail give him the appearance of an ageing beatnik ... but even today, Roy would prefer being called a student revolutionary" ... more.

Our Content Management System makes editing simple, so prior HTML experience is not necessary and what we need is enthusiastic writers and editors who can create content ... write to webteam@iitbombay.org. In addition, alumni who can help our all-volunteer team in more technical tasks such as web-services and server administration are also requested to contact webteam@iitbombay.org.
