Saumil Majmudar, an IIT Bombay alumnus, is at the helm of an innovative new venture called EduSports, which is a first-of-its-kind concept in India. India's poor performance in world sports is well known. The standard reasons cited are a lack of facilities, coaches and financing at the professional level. EduSports has been set up to address precisely this problem. Majmudar saw the opportunity in addressing the children's fitness issue, while building a robust business based on fitness-management programmes in schools all over India ... more.


The University of Toronto is hosting 22 of the sharpest young scientific minds from India this summer and introducing them to leading Canadian researchers and their laboratories, ideally enticing them to pursue future graduate studies and opportunities to work in Canada. Ashwin Raghavan, a 21-year-old mechanical and industrial engineering student from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, said he was "thrilled" when he found out he was selected to study at the University of Toronto. "The research here is really impressive and the professors are so involved with their students," he added. "I will certainly apply here for my graduate studies" ... more.
