Happy 3rd Birthday, YFA!

On this day exactly 3 years earlier i.e. on June-16-2008, we handed out the first 5 cheques of our Project Joining Bonus, now better known as Young Faculty Awards or YFA. Since then YFA has grown to be one of the most successful projects of IITB so far with a present fund inflow level of 6.4 crores and a promise of more to come.

From those first 5 exactly 3 years ago, we have now moved to over 80 new hires. From the Class of 82 legacy project, we have now moved to a universal all-IIT project which is currently being supported by C80, C82, C83, C84 and C85. Five batches in all in a space of 3 years. We’ve even had corporate donors for this project after seeing the huge success of this program and the change in the faculty map of IITB.

On the occasion of the 3rd birthday of YFA, the YFA team based on your inputs have decided to scale up the award from  Rs 3 lakhs to Rs 4 lakhs. Every faculty who joins  IIT Bombay from today onwards will get  Rs 4 lakh.

For a good reason, this is a proud moment for us and let us continue our journey relentlessly.
