MESS WORKERS' FUNDS

It's great to have a very good food service at our hostel which is primarily due to the endless efforts made by the mess workers. They work at weekdays, on weekends and even on public holidays for the benefit of students. It's been wonderful to have such devoted workers for our hostel for so many years. Hence it would be very great if we all could do something for their benefit !

The money raised under this fund will be given for:

1:Cash award on the valedictory functions.

2: lump sum amount on their 25-years of service in the mess..

3:The remaining performance incentive of giving lump sum retirement award is actively under discussion

Our mess workers are proud individuals so it is for alumni to recognize their need and care for them, as they have lent their service & are doing so even today.Everyone gets compensated for their work so the thought here is not to compensate them but to thank them in some of form of cash award tied only to feedback from students so as not to make it as an entitlement.

As these are not entitlements but performance awards as there can be reductions in the amounts if the performance fails to meet established criteria. This also helps bring more dignity to these awards and in receiving them, a great sense of achievement to our proud mess workers.

The fund will be managed by acting H-2 Warden, Associate Warden & acting H-2 office bearers. To bring these initiatives to fruition, your fully tax deductible generous donation to IIT Bombay heritage fund is all that is needed to get it off the ground.
