Hi all,
for the update...
Gym Room and equipments...
1. we are planning to have a gym room just near by the pool room on terrace...the plan in word doc is attached with this mail.
2. we are looking for the equipments and till now have thought to buy a 4 sided machine for 4 diff. exercises which will come around 90000 to 1 lakh. Also some dumbles of varying weights and some rods too.
Push and pull up bars, a set up on wall for chin up's (like in institute gym). We are consulting with some of the hostel seniors regarding these equipments and will try to send you a proper list asap.
I think the cost of equipments will go up to 1.5 lakh.
3. We already have some discs and the inclined bench, and 2-3 pair of dumbles. Also, the electricity, repair and maintenance cost will be covered by hostel itself. But for all this, the most important requirement is of a good room...ventilation requirements can be covered nicely if we make a new room for gym.
Cricket Pitch...
1. We have decided to have a cricket pitch in hostel...it can be made just behind the north wing, which is a totally useless area...cricket pitch will be a very good option at that place...
2. We have 2 options...either a proper pitch...which requires regular maintenance and time to time levelling...and secondly, a concrete layer of the size of the pitch (need not be very thick), on which mat will be put on while playing.
3. The main aim is to do net practice...bcoz playing with tennis ball and a leather ball are totally different. And, we never used to get that much time for GC practice.
Although our hostel has not won Cricket GC frm a part few years, but have always performed quite well...made into quarters and semis many times...Also the new batch of 2nd, 3rd yr and PG students have great enthusiasm in cricket.
4. As far as cost is concerned, I will reply back very soon with exact details of the expense. Although, the mat will cost around Rs. 2000 and we also have our hostel cricket kit...
