"Dear Alumni,

The summer has ended and the monsoon is in full swing here in Mumbai. Our admissions process is over both for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and through the last week streams of new students have been entering the campus. The entrants seem to look younger every year. (The real fact is that I am getting older). Instruction has commenced today.

As usual, our Convocation was held in the second week of  July. This year, 871 students received their degrees. Those of you who may have attended your own Convocation ceremony years ago will find the Convocation now to be a more colourful function organised with an attention to detail and precision. The black gowns (representing a Western tradition) are gone and there are many more changes. I shall not tell you more. You will need to come here and see the ceremony yourself.
