Dear Fellow IITian:

It is our pleasure to introduce ourselves as officers of the IIT Bombay Alumni Association (Southern California Chapter) and the Heritage Fund. As you are aware, we recently established this local chapter with the objective of developing a strong network of IIT alumni as well as an avenue for giving something back to our alma mater.

As part of our ongoing effort to organize alumni events on a regular basis, we are pleased to invite you to a luncheon with Dr. S. P. Sukhatme, Director, IIT Bombay. This event will also feature a keynote address by an entrepreneur/venture capitalist who is an alumnus of IITB.

Recently the Heritage Fund has organized some very successful events, including our “Speaker Series” presentations: in March by Mr. Yogen Dalal (General Partner, Mayfield Fund), in April by Mr. Hemant Kanakia (Founder and Chairman, Torrent Technologies), and in May by Mr. Sanjai Kohli (President and CEO, Wirelesshome). If you attended any of these talks, we hope you found the event fun and useful. If you did not, now is your chance to get involved !

Your participation and active involvement are essential for the success of our alumni association and the Heritage Fund. All of us have received significant personal and professional benefits because of our education at IIT. By taking the time and effort to attend alumni events, you not only show support for your beloved alma mater, but also it provides you with a strong networking opportunity. The reception on September 19 will give you a chance to hear the Director speak on a variety of subjects relating to IITB. This is also your chance to ask him questions, say, about the latest programs and successes at IIT, his vision going forward, and the challenges he faces in pursuit of achieving this vision.

Of course, your significant other is also most cordially invited. To offset the cost for this event and the lunch, we request a donation of $10 per person.
