  • "The TiE that binds" - IIT Bombay alumnus Kanwal Rekhi is featured in San Jose Mercury article on TiE on Nov 26 ... "India’s five IIT’s are the country’s top engineering schools—India’s version of MIT—but the admissions requirements are even stiffer. Each year, between 75,000 and 100,000 people take the nationwide entrance exam, competing for 2,000 seats."

  • IITian Manohar Parrikar (BTech '78 - Metallurgical) becomes Chief Minister of Goa, leading a 14 member council of ministers in a BJP-led coalition Government ... click here for the story in the Times of India. Parrikar joins other IITians in the political arena who have made it to center stage, including Sudheendra Kulkarni (BTech '81) who is an advisor to Prime Minister Vajpayee, and Jairam Ramesh (BTech '75), a former Secretary of the Congress Party and the author of the Kautilya column in India Today.
