IIT vs IIT ... what happens when India's best-known global brand
goes from 7 IITs to a grand total of 16? "Brand IIT will be diluted
and individual IITs will end up becoming brands. Today, it doesn't
matter whether a student is from IIT Madras or IIT Bombay. But in
the future, people would want to know which IIT a student is from."

The winning team at Bain & Co.'s business plan competition was
from IIT Mumbai ... Shuddh Technologies, offering
water-treatment technology. Hellointern.com, the third ranker
also from IIT Bombay, runs an internship portal for engineering
and management students.

CoCubes is an Indian startup founded by two fresh IIT Bombay
graduates. CoCubes is attempting to address the large labor market
of fresh college graduates. CoCubes is building an online platform
enabling colleges and companies to host the recruitment process
online.

Dr.
Ganesh Natarajan (PhD '05 Mgmt), CEO of Zensar Technologies,
took over as Chairman of National Association of Software and
Services Companies (NASSCOM) on April 7.

Exactly one year ago, officials at the elite IIT Bombay began
restricting the Internet in hostels after fearing high-speed access
was impeding socialization. The "LAN ban" was greeted with protest
and much fear about just how a generation that largely grew up on
the Internet would manage. A year later, a funny thing has happened:

IIT Bombay Heritage Fund (IITBHF)
is a public charitable organization under US Internal Revenue
Code Section 501 (c) (3), whose mission is to fund
and promote education and research among students, faculty and
alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The
IIT Bombay Alumni
Association (IITBAA), registered under Section 25 of the
Indian Companies Act, 1956, aims to strengthen the connections
between alumni, enhance ties to their alma mater, and provide
services to alumni to foster individual growth. |
