The IITBAA is an organization floated by alumni and IIT Bombay to further the interaction between the institute and its alumni. It was formally incorporated in 2001 as a Section (25) Company under the Indian Companies Act, 1956.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES:

  • To promote interaction amongst alumni members, and between alumni and the Institute.

  • To encourage, promote and facilitate education and research and other activities of the Institute.

ACTIVITIES:

  • In keeping with the above objectives the IITBAA has the following activities:

  • The Alumni Day Reunion every last Sunday of December specially focusing on the Silver Jubilee Batch.

  • Organizing functions regularly in various locations to provide a platform for IITians to interact.

  • Producing and marketing memorabilia for the Alumni & outsiders. Assisting IITB Interact with Alumni donors. Keeping members informed of progress & happenings in IITB.

And many more activities are planned. Suggestions from alumni are welcome.

MEMBERSHIP:

Anyone who has completed one academic year as a student of IITB is eligible to become a life member on payment of a life membership fee of Rs. 2000. One can apply to become a member by filling up a HTUmembership enrollment formUTH (included below) and sending a cheque of Rs. 2000 to 'IIT Bombay Alumni Association" towards life membership. The passing out students automatically become guest members for the first two years. The members are entitled to participate in all the activities of the Association and have privileged access to some of IIT's facilities. Life members are entitled to vote at the AGMs and stand for elections to the Board of Directors. The Annual General Meetings of the members usually takes place on Alumni Day at IITB campus. Election is held for one third of the elected Board, which retires by rotation every year at the AGM on Alumni Day.

CHAPTERS:

The activities of the Alumni Association are not restricted to the campus. In fact the Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pune chapters are organizing events and do so on a regular basis outside the campus and we hope to assist in increasing this over time.

PAN IIT:

Though Alumni of other IITs are invited to participate in most events of the IITBAA or its chapters , they cannot participate formally in the organization structure of the IITBAA in its current form. However, you are welcome to invite alumni of other IITs to the events of IITBAA or its chapters. The Pan IIT movement was conceived in January 2003 with the goal of coordinating the activities of all IIT Alumni and hopefully will help integrate activities of the various alumni associations.
