IITBHF Pune Chapter

Attendees :

• Alumni from all IITs are welcome (let your IITian friends know)

• Most of the spouses also attend on the first Thursday of each month

System : Whatever you eat, you pay for. Exception - birthday.

Activities :

• General chit-chatting

• Serious discussions on points raised by somebody

• Exchange of notes, especially on labour problems, quality management, how to recover money from parties etc.

• Business contacts, if somebody knows someone in a particular company and other member wants a contact, etc.

• Fixing meetings outside Vaishali, e.g. somebody's lecture etc.

• Going on outings

• Conducting courses, e.g. Dr Covey's Seven Habits; IIT JEE coaching (non-profit)

Record :

• Two major courses conducted as above

• About 20 to 25 lectures/presentations by people from different walks of life, even grapes exporter.

• One-by-one each member's company has been visited for getting to know each other better and also to solve his problems (generally somebody would have passed through that phase before).

• ISO-9000 certification achieved by one. Three more in progress.

• Guidance available from members.

Directions :
 

In June 2001, we shifted the venue of our meetings to Kimaya from Vaishali. Later that month, we shifted back to Vaishali. Now we shift it once more to Kimaya. The reason this time is the constant and loud noise of rock drilling from the plot next to Vaishali where some construction work is going on.
 

Just for those who don't know where Kimaya is. Continue on Karve road from Nal stop towards Kothrud. At Paud phata, go straight on Karve road (don't go over the flyover to Paud road), about 600 to 900 meters down the road, it is on RHS. The place is opposite Kasat Chemicals but there is no such board of Kasat chemicals. In confusion, people look opposite Kasat saree shop but that is wrong. One can look for Opel cars show room and Kimaya is just opposite. Next building to Kimaya is HDFC office. I think these are enough directions.
