loksatta citizens' movement is an initiative by dr jaiprakash narayan (ex-IAS) from hyderabad and will soon extend over 20 cities across the country. the main thrust areas are good governance and better public policies. the "Vote Mumbai" campaign is for restructuring urban governance and reversing the power equation to make it flow from the sovereign of the country - the citizens.

bmc-ngo council is a collaborative effort by the municipal body and a large group of local ngos to bring about change in power equations at the locality level. vinay somani, the convenor, is an alumnus of iitb (chem '80) and harvard univ. (mba '82) he has started an ngo called karmayog.com.
