President: Amit Khandelwal

Amit Khandelwal did his B. Tech in Chemical Engineering (Class of 1998, Hostel 3). Following that, he did his MS from North Carolina State University, Raleigh and has been living in bay area since 2001.

Amit is currently working with Applied Materials in the Metal Deposition Product group. He has been involved in bay area IITB chapter activities for >5 years, with last 3 years as chapter vice President. He lives in South bay with his wife, Priyanka.

  

 

Vice President: Shankar Narayan

Shankar did his M.Tech in Energy Systems Engg finishing in 1992 ('90-'92) and was at H7 - the Lady of the Lake. He was a part of the H7 council as the Warden's Nominee and was active in organizing inter-hostel events and was deep into playing Bridge. 
He currently works for HCL Technologies in business development role in IT and Engineering services for the Hi-Tech vertical.
Shankar has a deep passion in alternate energy technologies and pedagogy. He lives in the South Bay Area since 2005 with his wife and son.

 

 

 

Professional Events Co-ordinator: Manish Hemkar

Manish Hemkar did his B.Tech. in Electrical Engg (Class of 2000). He holds an MS in EE (Solid State Electronics) from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and is currently enrolled in the EWMBA program at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business (Class of 2012). He lived & breathed H9 (Pluto) while at IITB. He was very active in sports & cultural scene at Inter Hostel & Inter IIT events and was inducted in H9 Hall of Fame for contribution to Hostel activities. 
Manish is currently working with Applied Materials in Sunnyvale as Global Product Manager in Epitaxial Deposition Division. He has lived in the bay area since 2002. His family here consists of him and his wife, Suramya Sharma, who holds a CPA from Singapore and is currently working at Roche Palo Alto. 

 

 

 

 

 

Cultural Events Co-ordinator: Saurabh Ghaneriwal

SaurabhSaurabh did his B.Tech and M.Tech (Dual Degree) in Electrical Engg (Class of 2001). Following that, he did his Phd. from University of California, Los Angeles. He moved to the Bay area in 2006 and have been working with Google since then. He has held numerous posts at the Hostel & Institute level, including being the G.Sec for Hostel 8 in 1999-2000. Saurabh currently lives in East Bay with his wife, Akansha.
