Legacy project is intended to be an expression of gratitude from our batch to our alma mater that materially helps in meeting the mission the institution  - to further the learning and dissemination of knowledge in the areas of science and technology.

Progress so far
- Looked at projects undertaken by recent batches.
- Created a framework of questions we need to come up with possibilities as well as ways to narrow them to handful choices
- We already have input from batch of '82 and what they have done. We also have informal input about what to expect in terms of collection.

Next
- Determine the need from folks involved in IIT TODAY.
- Add more members to team - especially in India.
- Determine the feasibility of various ideas we already have generated/received.
- Shortlist the ideas.

Some of the ideas on the table:
- Alumni Center
- Faculty sign on bonus incentives to attract good teachers (class of '82 project)
- Campus infrastructure improvement programs (bus service, wireless, classrooms, etc)
- Green building initiative
