Class of 1980

The largest single class reunion ever was held by the Silver Jubilee Class of 1980 in Powai on December 24-25, 2005. The event was a great success and everyone who attended had a wonderful time meeting old friends and classmates. Click here for a picture of all the alumni attending the reunion. The Class of 1980 successfully raised an amount in excess of $200,000 or Rs. 1 crore for the Powai Lake Legacy Project.

Trip to Goa

With the blessing of our famous batch mate, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, we have organized an offsite trip to Goa Dec. 24 - 26. You will be transferred straight from airport/railway station to Calangute Residency on the beach, offering one of the best sunset views in the world. You can spend an evening on the beach with batchmates.The night will be made young with bonfire, dinner and various quizes, antakshari, treasure hunt, etc.

The next day after breakfast, visit to Old Goa churches, Mangueshi temple and lunch at spice garden followed by visit to Big foot, Shantadurga temple and to Panjim market. The night will consist of interaction with other IITans on Santa Monica with Christmas dance and cocktail dinner.

On the 26th after breakfast, visit to Panjim market, Handicraft Emporium, lunch then to the Airport. If enough people sign up, we can reserve a complete railway coach with about 72 passenger seats.

Class of 1977

Silver Jubilee Function – December 21 & 22

Class of 1977's Silver Jubilee Function on December 21 & 22 was simply the best party I have ever attended. It was fun all the way. Many thanks to the Mumbai volunteer team (Speedy, Ashok Ekbote, Saheba, Shashi Bhat, Arvind Bhadbhade and Suhas Nadkarni). They made all the reunion arrangements. Thanks also to Shashank Kulkarni, Ganesh, Abhijit Gadgil and Subbu Iyer for their efforts. Special thanks to Parag Saxena for all his contributions in making this a memorable event for the Class. We would not have been as successful, without the guidance and weekly support from Anil Kshirsagar (President, IITB Heritage Fund) and the rest of the IITBHF team (Rudy Rosen, Dien Yuen, Ram Kelkar and the conference call coordinator). A big 'Thank You' to Prof. Pradipta Banerji (PICAA) and Prof. Ashok Misra (Director) for being the most wonderful hosts.

Class of 1976

Alumni Day 2001 was celebrated on December 23 this year and, as usual, the common sentiment was that "it was a lot of fun". Seventeen alumni were awarded the Distinguished Service Awards, of which eleven received their awards in person.

Alumni Day 2001 and Class of 1976 Reunion

The Class of '76 celebrated their Silver Jubilee Reunion. Their program was an extended one - from the evening of December 22nd until lunchtime on December 25th. The events included Pagal Gymkhana, Trek, Quizzes, Antakshari, and of course, lots of grub ! The Director, Prof. Misra, hosted High Tea for them. Most of the alumni stayed in 'Vanvihar', the new 50-room guest house.
