Alumni Day 2001 was celebrated on December 23 this year and, as usual, the common sentiment was that "it was a lot of fun". Seventeen alumni were awarded the Distinguished Service Awards, of which eleven received their awards in person.

• Lecture Theatre renamed as PC Saxena Auditorium
• Alumni Day 2001 and Class of 1976 Reunion

The Class of '76 celebrated their Silver Jubilee Reunion. Their program was an extended one - from the evening of December 22nd until lunchtime on December 25th. The events included Pagal Gymkhana, Trek, Quizzes, Antakshari, and of course, lots of grub ! The Director, Prof. Misra, hosted High Tea for them. Most of the alumni stayed in 'Vanvihar', the new 50-room guest house.

On December 23, the Lecture Theatre was named as "P C Saxena Auditorium", after the father of Parag Saxena, an alumnus whose contribution made this possible. Parag and his family were present at the naming ceremony. Mrs. Radha Saxena, Parag's mother, unveiled the plaque.

All those who were not here during the Alumni Day have really missed out on a great event!
